Nathan's Flag Day Speech

Nathan's school holds a Flag Day Ceremony that is pretty big in the community. The students were asked to submit something telling what the Flag means to them. This was not mandatory but Nathan wanted to. They only picked to kids from each grade to read theirs at the ceremony. Nathan was one of the 2 Kindergartner's pick! He got to stand up and read in front of quite a large crowd. I posted the video and if you pay attention he nods his head at the very end. It is quite cute!

Becca Singing

Last spring the Primary had a talent show and Becca decided that she wanted to sing. She picked I Love to See the Temple and Book of Mormon Stories. She did so well for a three year old! We were very proud! Watch the video!

Update

Ok, so it has been a very long time since I last wrote. It seems there is just not enough time in the day! Well it is the end of another summer and the start of another school year. Nathan's first day is tomorrow and he is starting all day school in the first grade. I am excited! I will miss his help around here, but one less somebody needing me all day will be a nice break. I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. Becca starts preschool a week later and will be gone four days a week in the afternoon. That is when Dani sleeps so I might just get some quiet time to myself! Just in time, before #4 arrives! Yes it is true. I am 12 weeks preg and very sick! Thing have been very tough the last six weeks and somedays it seems we are barely surviving. We didn't do anything much this summer because I haven't felt up to it. I think we only made it to the beach once! Of course Dani is at that wonderful age where I can't take your eyes off of her and I do nothing but chase her. So I much prefer a nice enclosed place!

Well tonight Reece gave Nathan a Father's Blessing for school and afterwards we sat and talked with him. Reece asked him "What is one thing you like about yourself?" He answered" I like that I have super sonic powers and nobody else does." It was so funny because he said it as serious as could be. I though, "Where did the days go when I thought I could do anything and all the answers were so simple?" Got to love that boy! He really thinks he has super sonic powers! Who knows maybe he really does!

Becca is fun. She turned four this month and is getting better. Meaning she is getting further away from three. That girl gives me a run for my money. Or should I say patiences! She is practicing saying yes mother as opposed to saying NO all the time. She is very proud of herself when she is obeying! Big step for us! On friday she got her ears pierced. The next night Reece found her backing laying on the floor. Her earring had come half way out and had already closed. Unfortunately we had to hold her down and repoke it through! I took an hour. She was pretty traumatized and to say the least I did not like having to do that to her! We took her out for pizza and ice cream after that. Poor girl. She was so excited then it turned out to be horrible for her! Oh well she's over it now. She jumped up in primary today to tell the leaders she had her ears pierced!

And Dani? She is a doll! (except when she isn't getting her way!) By far the easiest child. Probably because there are older sibling to entertain her. She is so blond and blue eyed! It still takes me by suprise. She gets to go into nursery in 1 1/2 months! She is such a sweetheart and has just started pronouncing Daddy very well. Everyone loves her very much. She is also good for Becca. They get along great! Dani seems to even Becca out!

As for Reece and I? Well we are exhausted and wish we could get away for a few nights! Reece has been working so heard to take care of us. He has been working overtime and then comes home and does my job too while I lay around trying to not throw up! Hopefully things will look up as I pull out of the 1st trimester! We shall see! Lot of Love!

The Deer

One morning I was feeding Danielle and I looked out the window and saw four deer calmly walking across our yard. The sun was still rising and the snow was glistening. It was so beautiful. I love living here! They were just walking around looking for food. We got to watch them for a little while. The kids thought it was pretty cool. Becca was trying to scare them away because they were eating our trees. I had to explain to her that we want them to stay and they are beautiful. She wasn't so sure about that.

Becca Starts Preschool

Becca got to start preschool January 4th. She goes Tuesday and Thursday mornings. She really loves it! We were lucky to be able to start at this preschool. It is at the elementary school Nathan goes to. It is an intigrated program and she is a "typical peer". Some of the other students are children with special needs. She seems to do really well there. Of course the other day I mentioned how much likes it and she immediately said "I don't like going there. I don't want to go to school this morning!" I said "Oh I am so glad cause I really wanted you to stay home and help take care of Dani and help me clean the floors." Then she quickly said "Well I guess I really do want to go to school."

Right now we are having to do a lot of reverse psycology with her. Anything you say she wants and says the opposite! I hope I can live through this stage! And I pray that it is just a stage!

I'M a happy little Girl! (most of the time)

She is as tough as she looks!

Nathan"s School Work

So instead of trying to keep every paper that I think is cute I just take a picture and keep it on the computer! It works great! I don't have to feel bad about throwing things away because I can't stand having papers all over the place.

Nathan is doing well in school. He has to do a lot of sentences. With each sight word they learn he has to write 1-3 sentences. He makes up some of the funny sentences sometimes. Below are just some of the fun ones. Becca also made her first official drawing the other day. She is so funny, she will only try to write or draw if it is her idea and I don't suggest it!

Snow Day

We finally had our first snow! Ok, it was back in december. Reece got conned into going out with the kids. The snow was so deep they both had trouble walking in it. I think it was about 18 inches worth. I didn't mind watching from the doorway while taking pictures. Afterwards they stripped down and had some warm hot chocolate!
